An American painter, born in England, Tim Bavington is best known for his adaptations of musical scales to abstract painting. In the last decade, his work expanded into public sculpture.

Bavington’s work is in the collections of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery (NY), Museum of Modern Art (NY), Creative Artists Agency (CA), Joslyn Art Museum (NE), Fredrick R. Weisman Collection (CA), Honolulu Art Museum (HI), Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego (CA), Portland Art Museum (OR), United Talent Agency (CA), Vivendi Universal (CA), Palm Springs Art Museum (CA), Denver Art Museum (CO), Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art, Utah State University (UT), Istanbul Modern (Turkey), Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Buenos Aires (Argentina), and Sammlung Mondstudio (Hamburg, Germany). His solo exhibitins include Feigen Contemporary (NY), Jack Shainman Gallery (NY), Morgan Lehman Gallery (NY), Azuza Pacific University Gallery (CA), MECA (ME), Galerie Jean-Luc & Takako Richard (Paris, France), Space Gallery (London, UK), and LeeAhn Gallery (Daegu, South Korea). In 2014 he was inducted into the Nevada Entertainer/Artist Hall of Fame. 

Bavington lives and works in Las Vegas. He is the Lenahan Saltman Thomas & Mack Professor of Painting at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
